A 17th-century manor house in Ordino, home of Baron Guillem d'Areny-Plandolit, turned into a museum in 1986: period furniture and the daily life of Andorra's landed nobility.
Located in Ordino, Casa d'Areny-Plandolit is one of Andorra's most emblematic manor houses. Built in the 17th century and substantially remodelled in the mid-19th century by Baron Guillem d'Areny-Plandolit, an influential figure in Andorran politics and business, it remained inhabited by the family until the 1950s. Purchased by the Consell General in 1972, it opened to the public as a museum in 1986. Its remarkably preserved interior reveals period furniture, a library, kitchen and reception rooms belonging to a noble family, offering a striking contrast to the modest rural life of traditional Andorra. The visit includes an original audiovisual experience, "Don Guillem's Dream," which brings the baron back to life through holograms. The house forms part of Andorra's Rural Habitat Itinerary, a trail linking several of the country's historic residences.
